Welcome to Uptown School (UTS), an International Baccalaureate World School. UTS offers an internationally recognised education for students from Pre-KG to Grade 11, in a supportive environment inspiring them to enhance their understanding and respect of the world around them. Grade 12 will be added in September 2016.

Our modern, state-of-the art campus is ideally located in Dubai’s Mirdif area, at the corner of Tripoli Street and Algeria Road and opposite Al Warq’a.

We are fully authorised for the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

Uptown offers a warm and nurturing environment where parents, students and teachers work as a team.  Parents are welcome to visit or assist in the classrooms and further contribute by helping to add to our range of innovative extra-curricular activities.

Our programme is one that challenges students to be active, inquiring learners, and empathic and considerate contributors to their community, by challenging them to delve deeply into issues affecting them and the world in which they live. The delivery of our IB programmes demands a quality of teaching and academic rigor that engages students positively in their learning.

Demand for the highly regarded IB curriculum offered by our staff, in a community-based environment has resulted in significant growth at the school.

Uptown School combines a broad range of academic opportunities, performing arts, athletic and extra-curricular activities to enrich the development of each student. The school is well known for its music and arts programmes, violin ensemble and robust language programmes in French and Arabic. Uptown School maintains an international focus with over 80 nationalities currently represented in the student body.

Dubai’s workforce represents all five continents and over 100 countries. For the mobile, professional workforce and families who make their home here, the IB curriculum is frequently their first choice. Founded in 2005, Uptown School was one of the earliest IB schools established in the United Arab Emirates and has continued its leadership position, providing an exceptional international education experience for its students.

Our Mission
Our mission is to develop intellectual curiosity, independent and lateral thinking, communication and problem solving skills, a respect for cultural diversity and a life-long passion for learning that will enable our students to engage actively in our global society.

Our School Community

Uptown offers a warm and nurturing environment where parents, students and teachers work as a team. Parents are welcome to visit or assist in the classrooms and further contribute by helping to add to our innovative mother tongue program. Our teachers hold university degrees with education diplomas or education certification with BA or BSc degrees. Our early years faculty hold degrees in early years education or qualifications through teaching experience; many of our teachers hold masters degrees in education or education leadership.

Our Teachers

We are committed to recruiting highly qualified teachers and support staff with relevant, international experience and proven performance. Hailing from across the globe, our faculty and support staff come from a diverse pool of nationalities, adding to the diversity and international-mindedness of our school environment.

The IB Primary Years Program and Middle Years Program is based on committed teaching in the spirit of an inquiry-based curriculum. Our teachers continue to engage in a process of professional development throughout their time at Uptown, seeing themselves not only as educators but also as learners. Their love of teaching ensures that they strive for excellence in themselves and their students.

Teachers at Uptown endeavour to encourage students to continue to explore their gifts and talents as lifelong learners, demonstrating positive attitudes towards people and the environment and successfully contributing to society.
